Maintenance among all things is always the basic thing to remember. A roof in good shape requires regular inspection and immediate repairs. If there are any roof red flags, this should be attended to as soon as possible.
“Cold” vs “Warm” Roof Space
After ensuring regular maintenance of your roof – next thing to do is to choose between a cold and warm roof space. Things to remember here is that cold roof space is advisable if you live in a part of the country that has severe winters.

Spray Foam Insulation
Spray foam insulation may be used for both cold and hot roofs. Same with blanket insulation, have your roofing contractor check your roof before this procedure is done. Although unlike the other options, with spray foam, the residents would need to evacuate in the interim that this procedure is being done.
